HIG undertook the design and construct contract for Edward O’Neill bridge with Shamrock Civil. The project involved replacing an existing single lane timber bridge with a new two lane 2 x 24m span concrete bridge, including approach works. The work involved:
- Hydraulic modelling to determine the most cost effective bridge arrangement;
- Bridge design for 2 x 24m deck units, bearings, headstocks (including jack shelves), 1200 diameter CIP piles, bridge barrier;
- Civil approach road works for pavement design and approach guardrail; and
- Project drawings and documentation.
