Through a number of flood events since January 2010, over one third of the state controlled road network in the South West region had been damaged. The South West Transport Network Reconstruction Program (TNRP) involved the program delivery of $910M of flood damage reconstruction works for the region and involves the restoration of over 3000km of road in a three year time period. Works were delivered on sections of state controlled roads and highways in South West Queensland. Shires including Maranoa, Paroo, Bulloo, Quilpie, Balonne and Murweh. Funding for the works delivered fell under Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA), a joint federal and state initiative.
