The Queensland Government’s Northern Busway was proposed to connect the Inner Northern Busway (INB) at the Royal Children’s Hospital busway station at Herston with Windsor, Lutwyche, Kedron, Chermside, Aspley and Bracken Ridge.
THGQ (prior to our company merge) managed the preparation of the Draft Concept Design and Impact Management Plan (CDIMP) for the first stage of the project from Herston to Kedron. The draft CDIMP identified the preferred busway alignment including busway station sites and strategies to maximise benefits and minimise impacts of the busway both during and after construction.
The draft CDIMP was prepared in parallel with the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Airport Link. Airport Link is a predominantly underground toll road connecting Brisbane’s northern suburbs with the Inner City Bypass (ICB) and the North South Bypass (NSBT) at Bowen Hills.
Our role was to manage and review specialist consultancies and relevant reports. We also had a representative on the Evaluation Panel for the delivery of the Northern Busway and the Airport Link.
We continued to support TransLink and City North Infrastructure during the delivery phase as part of AirportLink by BrisConnections, which was completed in 2012.
