Our Project Mission

Our mission was to craft a design that benefited the local community through enhanced functionality and safety, whilst also assisting the local economy with additional appeal for travelers and tourists to enjoy the offerings of this heritage town on the National Highway.

Our Approach

The project required urban design requirements for both built and green infrastructure, accommodating heritage listed buildings into the design, and required consultation with stakeholder groups, Department of Transport and Main Roads and other agencies. The design required:

  • Stormwater drainage (including QUDM drainage calculation tables and long sections)

  • Kerb and Channels

  • Sealed access road, car parks, service roads and intersection (from highway to footpath kerb)

  • Vehicle movements and line marking

  • Traffic islands/edging around existing and proposed assets (e.g. trees)

  • Traffic signage as per MUTCD

  • Paved and coloured footpath surfaces

  • Disabled access, pram ramps, parking and tactile indicators

  • Landscaping (vegetation and street furniture) ensuring there are no conflicts with civil works or adjoining infrastructure.
